Dasha's flickr collection 'Soviet Childhood' provokes nostalgia for childhood memories that aren't necessarily yours but make you wish you owned. A family archive from the 70s featuring headstanding grandads in trees and strange sculptures make this series funny in an odd way and really, really beautiful. I think its also easy to become drawn to old photographs as the way we approach photography nowadays has changed somewhat with the increase in digital cameras. This series has inspired me to shoot more film and leave some room for more spontaneity and discovery.
