'Beam me up'/ Available as part of the 1000 words card range published by Urban Graphic

We were really drawn to the above photograph which kept popping up on image bookmarking websites - in fact we liked it so much we published it! There's a real sense of clever simplicity in the composition and subject matter, and after looking through the rest of Baran's work, it became obvious that he is an absolute master in lighting, using it to create some stunning, dramatic effects.

I think what makes his images so special is that they look almost hyper-real in places, but yet they still retain a human quality that transcends his obvious technical experience. Often his shots are of urban or rural landscapes, taking everyday locations and transforming then into mini works of art.
