Spread design for the launch publication of 'fixed gear' bike magazine, 'Fixed, And One'

 Sawdust Design is the working name of two talented chaps, Rob Gonzalez and Jonathan Quainton. Their multi-award winning work stretches across several disciplines including image-making, art direction, and most impressively in my eyes, typography.

The spread above was created for a specialist publication which celebrates the rather cliquey 'fixed-gear' bike community, and features a custom-made design and type. The images below detail another custom-made font, NewModern, which is available to buy from HypeforType if it takes your fancy!

Sawdust's work is clean, structured, and beautifully presented. Their approach to design and layout is considerate and careful, and I get a real impression of 'less is definitely more' from their image-making. Their impressive roster of clients (check out the website, I'm not going to list them all here!) and published work in design bibles such D&AD and Novum only adds kudus to an already accomplished portfolio of work.
