Art with a heart! The 100 Project is a charitable initiative with the aim to nurture the creative talent of tomorrow by putting 100 young people from the east end of London through a term at The Prince's Drawing School. Artists of today kindly help to raise the money.
The idea started when Poke, a creative design agency in East London were given £100 seed funding to use in helping make their area of London unique. They decided to convert the £100 into art school terms at the Prince's Drawing School in Shoreditch for 100 local people. They then would raise the money for term fees by calling upon 52 generous, well known names in the art world to donate their work for a weekly online auction with a reserve price of £100, and et voila, the 100 Project was born!
With work from the likes of John Burgerman, Mary McCartney, David Shrigley, and Milton Glaser, this is an affordable way to own some original art and help out a good cause at the same time - happy bidding!
